Death Registration
Registering a Death in South Africa: Key Points Even though some processes are now online, the death must still be registered in person at the Department of Home Affairs or through a registered undertaker. If you are outside South Africa, you can approach your nearest South African embassy, high commission, or consulate for assistance. They can help you apply for the death certificate and access deceased records in South Africa.

What is the purpose of tombstones? Tombstones mark where someone is buried. They help families remember loved ones and give others a place to visit. Tombstones also share important facts, like names and dates. People all over the world use them.
Policies
Purpose of a Funeral Policy Funeral policies are designed to provide financial security to families after the death of the policyholder. They cover immediate and essential expenses related to a funeral, which can include: Coffin or casket Burial or cremation services Transport of the deceased Catering, venue, and memorial arrangements Headstones or tombstones
Night Services
This allows the family and mourners the time to have a night vigil where the deceased can be viewed for the last time and religious/traditional rites can be performed. This can include multiple sermons or services relating to religion or ethnic traditions.
Direct Cremation
Direct cremation is a disposition option in which the deceased is cremated in the days immediately following death, without a funeral service beforehand. Usually, a memorial service is held either pre or post-cremation.
Exhumation
Exhumation is the act of removing a body or remains from the ground after it has been buried, typically for legal, forensic, or scientific purposes.
